FAQ

Common questions about Imagic AI tools

General

Is it really free?

Yes. All tools are free, no signup needed, no limits. We don't gate features behind a paywall or require an email.

Are there file size limits?

No hard limits. You can process images of any size, though very large files (50MB+) will take longer on our 2-core server.

Do you add watermarks?

Never. Output images are clean and ready for any use, commercial or personal.

Privacy & Data

Is my data private?

Files are processed in memory and immediately discarded. We don't store uploads, don't log image content, and don't use your data for training.

Can I use results commercially?

Yes. You own your output. No attribution required.

Technical

What formats are supported?

JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP, and TIFF. The converter handles all of these.

How does AI upscaling work?

We use Real-ESRGAN, a deep learning model trained on millions of images. It adds realistic detail when enlarging 2-4x, rather than just stretching pixels like traditional interpolation.

How does background removal work?

The U2NET model generates a salient object mask, identifying the foreground subject. It handles hair edges, semi-transparency, and complex backgrounds. Output is a transparent PNG.

How fast is processing?

Compression, resize, crop, and conversion take 1-2 seconds. AI tasks (upscaling, background removal) take 3-8 seconds depending on image size.

Best Practices

What compression quality should I use?

80% is the sweet spot for most web images: visually indistinguishable from the original at 60-70% smaller file size. Use 70% for thumbnails, 90%+ for print.

Why convert to WebP?

WebP produces files 25-35% smaller than equivalent JPEG quality, supports transparency (unlike JPEG), and is supported by all modern browsers. It's the default recommendation for web images in 2026.
