Recommended workflow

How to use the Collage Maker

  1. 01

    Add your photos

Select or drag in 2 or more images.

  2. 02

    Choose a layout

Pick grid, row, or column arrangement.

  3. 03

    Download the collage

Preview the combined image and save it.

How the layouts are built

Pick a 2x2 grid, a single row or a single column, and add at least two photos. The grid puts two photos per row and adds rows as needed, so five photos make three rows with one empty square at the end.

Every photo is cropped to a square from its centre and placed in a 600x600 cell, with an 8px white gap between cells. Faces and subjects near the edge of a wide shot can be cut off, so crop those photos to a square yourself first.

The collage is built in your browser and downloaded as a PNG. The photos are not uploaded.

Getting a collage that looks deliberate

Photos with similar light and colour sit together better than a mix of indoor and outdoor shots. A single row suits a before-and-after or a three-step sequence; a column reads well on a phone screen; the grid suits a set of four.

For Instagram's 4:5 portrait posts or a Story, make the collage first, then crop or resize the PNG to the platform's shape.

Quick answer: when should you use Collage Maker?

Use Imagic AI Collage Maker when you need to combine several photos into one collage image. It is best for before/after comparisons, event photo summaries, and social media multi-photo posts, runs in the browser workflow, and does not require signup for the core tool.

Photos with similar aspect ratios collage most cleanly, since each cell center-crops to fit — very different shapes lose more of the frame.
